WHAT IS ADAS
ADAS stands for “Advanced Driver(s) Assistance Systems”. These systems rely upon cameras, lasers, and radar – often with the camera mounting to the windshield. Any time a new windshield is installed, the camera must be calibrated to ensure proper functionality and to restore the camera to OEM specifications.

WHAT IS CALIBRATION
Calibration is the process of returning a vehicle’s ADAS to OEM specifications. Calibration is necessary after a windscreen replacement, particularly a windscreen with a camera mounted to it, to ensure that the ADAS features continue to function properly despite having been moved during installation.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF NOT CALIBRATED
If a car’s ADAS is not properly calibrated, the system may not function safely. If the cameras/radars/lasers on the vehicle are off by even a few millimetres they may not give accurate readings and the system may not function properly. A misaligned camera could jeopardise the functionality of the system and lead to dangerous driving or accidents, so it is crucial that the cameras are aligned perfectly, which is what ADAS Calibration ensures.
